Who We Are

Zion Church emerged from simply being in the Presence of God. We didn’t decide to start a church for ourselves; however, it was from His Presence, from being intimate with God, that He asked us to do this. We aren’t experts, we are just in love with Jesus. It doesn’t need to be anymore complicated than that.

Our heart is to be individuals, families and a community that the Holy Spirit dwells in and through, in an ever increasing way. The Presence of God is what we want, more of the Holy Spirit, more of Jesus, more of the Father. We believe it is from His Presence that we can reflect His nature, His character and His value system appropriately and bring Heaven to earth as we disciple nations.

We are at the beginning of our journey as a community. We don’t have all the answers, we don’t have any formulas, we are simply in love with Jesus and want to make the love of Jesus known everywhere we are.

We are set out on a mission to make disciples, train and equip them to be leaders and release them to do what God is calling them to do.

Psalms 132:13-18 AMP - For the Lord has chosen Zion; He has desired it for His dwelling place: "This is My resting place forever" [says the Lord]; "Here will I dwell, for I have desired it. "I will abundantly bless her provisions; I will satisfy her poor with bread. "Her priests also I will clothe with salvation, And her godly ones will shout aloud for joy. "There I will make the horn [strength] of David grow; I have prepared a lamp for My anointed [fulfilling the promises]. "His enemies I will clothe with shame, But upon himself shall his crown shine."

Our Greatest Treasures

Jesus

Jesus is our greatest treasure. He is the treasure in the field, the pearl of great value. We give him all the honour and glory and praise. He is the cornerstone of the church, all our values begin and end with Jesus. If it was in Jesus' life we want it in our lives, if it wasn't in Jesus' life we don't want it in our lives. Our desire is to live as Jesus lived. We don't just believe this is possible but our mandate [Eph 2:20 & 1 John 2:6].

Prayer

The ability to communicate honestly and vulnerably with God is an incredible privilege. It's one of the ways we can know Him more and experience Him face to face. We view a persons 'secret time' with Jesus as one of the most important parts of a disciples life. We are to be a joyful house of prayer and to pray Heaven onto earth [Isa 56:7 & Matt 6:6-14].

The Fear of the Lord

The fear of the Lord is our treasure because it is the treasure of God’s dwelling place - Zion . The standard we follow is Jesus’ and Jesus delighted in the fear of the Lord and so we will too. The Fear of the Lord draws us towards God and not away from Him [Isa 33:5-6 & Isa 11:3].

The Presence of God

Our lives are changed in the presence of God, it's openly and readily available to everyone who seeks it . We immerse [to be completely surrounded by] ourselves in God's presence at Zion and we seek to be a dwelling place for His presence both individually and co-operately. We desire His Presence more than anything this world has to offer [Psalms 80:3, Luke 17:21 & Exodus 33].

Worship

For us at Zion worship isn't simply a half hour segment before the teaching on a Sunday morning. It's a lifestyle. We give Jesus the worth He deserves with our life. Whether that's in family or relationships or work or or finances or anything. He is worthy of our highest praise [Rev 4:8-11& Rom 12:2].

The Word of God

We believe that the Word of God (the Bible) is the living words of Jesus and that is breathed out by God through the Holy Spirit. We believe that the Bible is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. We rejoice at the Word of God like it is a great treasure [Heb 4:12, 2 Tim 3:16 & Psalms 119:162].
